Field Supervisor/Truck Push

Field Supervisor/Truck Push duties include but are not limited to:

The Field Supervisor will be responsible for the coordination of fluid hauling and pressure trucks to facilitate the request of operators and associated administration


Operations

• Coordinating projects including scoping job areas, determining volumes, and attending bid meetings both at Sniper offices and customer offices

• Supervising and overseeing drivers and units on site, troubleshooting, conducting or scheduling repairs and maintenance as needed

• General on-site Supervision during operations/ incidents/accidents

• Required to relieve or fill in as driver from time to time on Tank truck and/or Pressure Truck duties depending on competency levels determined at time of hire

• Responsible for completing mileage log and occasional driver record to comply with OH&S, Alberta DOT regulations, and CRA regulations

• Intervening by reporting any work you believe poses a risk to the safety of people, equipment, and the environment, not just if it applies to Sniper health and safety

• Assist with hiring/onboarding of drivers

• Conduct 3-month, annual employee reviews, issue disciplines as necessary and complete follow up as required

• Supervise loading and unloading of bulk products in the yard

• Communicate inventory issues with dispatch

• General yard/tank farm maintenance e.g.: mowing/snow removal/road grading

• Responsible for communicating professionally with various levels of management, customers, suppliers, and government agencies


Safety

• Training and evaluating new drivers within all branches of Sniper operations

• Completing a New Hire driving exam to ensure drivers are competent in the main task of driving which they are being hired to perform

• Completing a Driver Training Manual to ensure drivers are competent while transporting Dangerous Goods and comply with Sniper/Customer requirements

•  Understand legislation as it pertains to all Sniper Services operations

•  Conduct weekly inspections to identify and ensure that safe practices and work behaviors are used on all sites by using a Management Field Inspection

• Follow up on any hazards or unsafe work practices documented on site with the employee, Managers and HSE

• Conduct annual employee reviews in conjunction with the General Managers to efficiently track driver commendation, training, incidents, accidents, and CVSA violations

• Conduct incident investigations as legislated by Alberta Occupational Health and Safety 

• Ensuring that all incidents are followed up properly and that the employee knows why/when any discipline has occurred, and how to assess hazards to reduce the chances that this type of incident happens a second time

• Responding to incidents in the field, following up on incident report completion, and TDG ERAP reporting/paperwork including reporting all fluid transfers as stated in the TDG Legislation 

• Report all incidents/accidents to the applicable General Manager and HSE Coordinator within 24 hours

• Participating in monthly safety meetings, operations meetings and Manager meetings as required

• Assessing and ensuring that Sniper employees are fit for work, stopping work if the employee is not

• Complete ongoing training with regards to Supervisor and Safety education. E.g., Leadership Supervisor, Formal Hazard Assessment, Incident, and Investigation training

Job Capabilities

• 55% Sitting during all driving/paperwork completion

• 35% Pushing/pulling/lifting more than 100lbs.

• 10% Squatting/kneeling/crawling during chain up/maintenance and service

Qualifications

• 3 years Gas and Oilfield experience preferably with off road driving experience

• Candidates with previous dispatching and supervisory roles will be considered first

• Read and write English

• Class 1 driver’s license and clean drivers abstract

• Computer literate/experience using Axon an asset and knowledge of Microsoft Office

Job Type: Full Time

*Schedule: Ten (10) days on, four (4) days off. Twenty-four (24) hours per day availability in office or field according to scope of work

*Alberta Labor states: The following jobs are exempt from the minimum standards for hours of work and rest: Managers, Supervisors and those employed in a confidential capacity

Requirements:

• Pre hire/Post Incident/Re hire drug and alcohol testing is required

• Ability to travel for up to two weeks at a time
